However, in most cases the drugs come with certain side effects, which often take lot of time to be cured. Avoid Food High in Purina Content
Most of the seafood you have and certain pulses as well are high in purine content. Even the red meat and even certain meat products like brains, livers, kidneys etc. Purine increases the level of uric acid in human blood. This is why the less you consume these foods; the lesser will be the chances of you being affected by gout.

Keep Yourself Dehydrated
It is very necessary for a gout patient to drink water in abundance. The continuous drinking of water will keep washing off the excessive uric acid from the blood streams. One must make sure that he is drinking a minimum of 2 to 4 liters of water every day. The lesser is the level of hydration the more will be the chances of the uric acid accumulating in the joints.

Do Regular Exercise
To work out every day is a great way of reducing the level of uric acid in one’s body. One would not need to use weights or go to the gym regularly, but taking a walk down the lane every morning will be enough. Exercising keeps the systems of the body active and thereby keeps the excretion of uric acid uninterrupted.

Changes in the Lifestyle: Good Sleep, Less Smoking or Drinking
One would need to have proper rest that is enough amount of sleep regularly. If long hours of sleep is not possible one would need to take small naps throughout the day. On the other hand, a gout patient must start accepting the fact that he will have to keep away from cigarettes and drink especially beer.
