2 years into, what I thought would be a simple solution, providing accurate information based on symptoms, has turned into the next shuttle launch. Why is it so difficult to find someone to build a medical symptom, search site?
If anyone can provide me with an explanation or viable company to join my endeavor I would love to hear some intellectual answers. So far I’ve thrown good money out the door, only to have a non functioning site that is a bit of an embarrassment.
Thank you for any support

interested in your project. i have a fairly strong medical background. call gerald 901 412 9618 or gmillioni@yahoo.com

my question about your site is one that i have for all medical sites: people can describe symptoms, signs, and even provide a reasonable area of involvement. they can get great feedback, but they cant get the drugs they need, they cant get the attention/care they need, nor anything else to effect a cure and/or diagnosis without going to a doctor. so in general what good can your site do since there are many symptom/medical advice sites already in existence that seem to do what you want to do..

Great question and thank you for the post.
Necessity is the Mother of invention. I’ve used the net for many years to provide an income for myself. In fact I was on the net in 1981 (CompuServe). I used the net to resolve a problem on the Columbia Space shuttle back in the day. Went down in flames 8 years ago when launching a local search engine. I understand the net. Ineedacure is the result of my personal quest for answers ‘Mother of invention’. My brother called 2years ago with bad news, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. After several weeks of research, I realized what others must go through to seek out answers. I tried to imagine what It would be like to search while sick, having a migraine or toothache. It became clear in my mind how to build the site, and which answers were needed. To answer your questions, yes it can be done. Here is a scenario, it’s 2am and you have a toothache, you have access to the net or even a pda (Ineedacure.mobi) type in too------ and preemptive text loads the rest, hit go. In one of the (4) results categories, ‘home remedy’ you find that a 500mg aspirin melted on the tooth will reduce the pain to a tolerable level if not completely. There are other results, but limited to 4 results. I can’t go to much more into detail. The door keeps closing at every turn which means to me that this is a needed site for all the people, without insurance, hope, ability and or resources to find answers. I sat in the living room with WebMd through a mutual contact years ago and have seen all the sites that offer advice etc, none do what I’m trying to get done and will do in time. It’s the right site for the right reason, to help sick people.

Good Morning Violet, It seems to go wrong when symptoms, nouns etc are input. The site is supposed to convert all terms, medical, non medical, symptoms etc to merge and bring back results. I have a friend that is one of Ca's leading Cancer research Scientist and swears by green tea an curry. From a professional level he can make no claims to green tea (a specific type by the way) that it prevents most cancer. He will be able to post his opinion in the home remedy section of ineedacure.com. I'm looking towards all who care to help me on this quest.

Check out doublecheckmd. This may be the model you are going for, wrongdiagnosis is another. As far as information technology and databases can go however, they cannot replace a medical checkup or the related conditions or contingencies that a medical or other healthcare provider can look out for and advise upon. Databases can become dated if not consistently looked after and IT-suggested remedies often do not tailor to many of the most relevant variables in providing healthcare solutions. A symptoms-remedy site can be useful for some forms of simple advice that facilitate a patient selecting the most useful care option but this can also only turn out to be the preferred option rather than the most useful one and does hinge on the patient being suitably informed and with suitable ability to make the best care decision for him or herself. Such decision-making also often occurs under conditions that are not really ideal for effective self-decided healthcare. It does take finding a good balance between convenience and credibility of solutions. For person-to-person information, there are several models that are available, two at justanswer and liveperson (various problems though, like unsubstantiated credentials of responders and responses), another at allexperts - free information exchange that may be especially useful for those who cannot afford to pay for online healthcare information or advice. Best wishes with your quest.
