Hi I am a nephrologist that has recently started blogging on kidney disease for my patients. My idea is really simple review the articles published daily in journals daily and try and translate it into easily understood language and add some of my personal opinions on the matter.
Education and empowerment is the aim.
What I would like from is this..Are there any burning issues that you would like to know about when it comes to kidney disease?
I want to tailor my posts to what the general population actually wants.

Permalink Reply by Francis G Chang on June 3, 2011 at 3:15am Hello Doctor, I have a kidney stone, and dont know what type of stone it is, however its been with me for too long. The first time I knew I have it was like 9 years ago, and just until last year I had a very excruciating pain on my flank area, and I was hospitalized for 3days due to the pain which I can't bear. The only thing that stopped the pain is when I drank a supplement from USANA's Proflavanol, it has blueberry extract. Until now, I'm not feeling any pain, however when i eat foods rich in uric acid it starts to feel tolerable pain. anyhow do you have any advice if I should have this remove or stick to a strict low salt, no uric acid diet, loads of water? thanks doc.
